Lanson Place, Hong Kong

April 10, 2007

I picked Lanson Place based on Trip Advisor's posted comments and the hotel's location. It's in Causeway Bay. 10-minute leisure walk from Time Square and the MTR subway station (Causeway Bay Exit F). A good reference point for this hotel is: right across the street from the Indonesian Consulate on Leighton Road. The hotel exact address is: 133 Leighton Road. Lason Place is part of a chain known as Small Luxury Hotel.

This place was awesome when I stayed there last week. Luxurious, quiet, 5 stars all the way and very good staff service. This hotel provided free breakfast and free wireless Internet access. Upon checking in, I was offered a free upgrade to the premium room without asking; it consisted of a kitchenette and a small sitting area separate from your sleeping area. The room, though, did not have a bathtub but a shower.

Give it a try. Pricing was affordable for the service, about US$250.00 per night.

*Note: if you plan on using Hong Kong's public transportation regularly while visiting, do consider purchasing an Octopus Card. It saves oneself from having a pocket full of changes. You can use it for subway, tram and groceries.
