mushroom

We went to a high-end vegetarian restaurant last night with some friends. One of dishes we ordered was made of mushroom as an appetizer. It came out in a Martini glass. Nice and spicy. After the cooked version was presented, we were presented yet again with the raw version - second picture.

The original shape of the mushroom was round, looked like a big rock or a large beet. That was at 0C. Above 10C after about 10 minutes thawing, the mushroom expanded to the shape in the second picture - 3 sections. We ate the part on the right side. The middle part was for another dish and the right side was the remaining of the original shape.

This mushroom can be found in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces.
