with the iPad, I have to copy all the videos captured every single
stage of the grandchildren to the iPad's vault. Well, it's no easy
task if a person has gone thru several digital cameras with different
competing video encodings like: MOV, AVI, H.263... etc... Anyway,
here's a bit of a kicker....
When I imported all the pictures and video clips from Chairman Lo's
digital camera's SD card to iPhoto, worked like a charm; we all could
view everything from still pictures to video clips. But syncing to
iPad only resulted in still pictures being synced. This was because
all the video clips were in AVI format. And iPad does not support this.
Now I have the enviable task of converting every single videos for the
last two years from AVI to MP4 using Handbrake. Good thing I can put
individual video clip conversion into a Queue and let them go one by
one. Then after the conversion process is done, I copy them to
iTune's Movie folder and from there, let iTune sync with the iPad.
Convoluted? Yes, I think so. I am hoping to find a simpler solution.
For now though, this works.
So if anyone who wants to use iPad to play a lot of video clips,
beware.....
